Following natural disasters, a nuclear crisis and a potential financial meltdown, it looks back at the week that nearly destroyed Japan. Hundreds of thousands of people saw their homes being obliterated and now have no safe place to stay. Swathes of land filled with debris and devastated communities mourning the dead. It's the bleakest picture. "I heard it was bad but I never expected this bad," says journalist Toshi Maeda. Although trying to remain positive, many are at breaking point: "We've got an earthquake, tsunami and radiation - it's a triple punch. Nothing could be worse".
