San Francisco Earthquake

One of the biggest problems with a massive Northern California Earthquake is the problems with the Hospitals, as very few of them are earthquake retrofitted. So an Earthquake in the Bay Area of a magnitude of 8.0 or higher will mean there will be no Hospitals still standing or without damage to take the estimated 50,000 to 250,000 seriously injured population and subsequent after shocks will make it even worse.

Currently there is a deadline of January 2013 for all the Hospitals to unblemished their retrofit, but the chances of a huge Earthquake hitting before then are extremely high. Still most feel that even the 2013 date will not be met. Many say there is just no possible way. Not to mention the Healthcare business is under extreme costs stress as it is due to over regulation, labor disputes and lawsuits. But there are even other issues such as the costs from It work to comply with the Privacy Rules no enforced for patients.

Which hospitals in the area are without seismic retrofit? Well most all of them. Here are a few; Cp medical Center, Marin general Hospital, San Francisco General, Laguna Honda Hospital, Alta Bates Summit Hospital and The Eden medical Center. What does this mean? It means if you are in a major Earthquake in the liberal land of the San Francisco Bay area you are fully Sol. Think about this in 2006.
